On Wednesday, June 13, 2018, I had the privilege to attend the launch of the 19th factory under the 1 District, 1 Factory ( 1D1F) initiative.

The 19th factory is a soy milk processing factory using local produce like soy beans, groundnuts, and cassava to process a highly nutritious milk called Lan T Soy Milk.

It is a private investment by a Chinese and a Ghanaian, with technical support from 1D1F and business advisory support from the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).

It is located close to the Asutsare Junction on the Akosombo Road.

The factory is fully functional, and it employs over 90 workers from both the factory and the farm.

They have grown and harvested enough raw materials to cover 2 years of production.

The 1D1F authority and NEIP will continue to work together when necessary to deploy various factories across the country.

LAN T SOY MILK COMPANY LTD currently produces 5000 pieces of soy milk each day.
